About the Blog

Destination Libraries is all about exploring library spaces. The future of libraries, whether they be public libraries, academic libraries, or specialized libraries, seems to be headed in two different directions. While more and more services go online, libraries must create these innovative digital spaces. The idea of the digital branch is becoming more and more important. Libraries are also intent on creating physical community gathering spaces. The concept of maker spaces and community learning programs makes the library building just as important as its growing digital branch. This blog will explore trends in library service and document the journey to creating a destination library space.
